What is the Hearing Aid Academy Training?
The Hearing Aid Academy training is a combination of Web-Access video training sessions that provide you the opportunity at your convenience to learn the knowledge necessary for you to take your state's licensing examination and to become a professional hearing aid dispenser. It includes an intensive, three-day, hands-on lab session at our facility where you gain and practice the technical skills associated with dispensing hearing aids. | | For whom was the Hearing Aid Academy training designed? The Hearing Aid Academy training program is designed specifically for two groups of individuals:
1) Persons who want a professional career in the healthcare industry, but do not want to attend college or university classes, or who cannot afford the cost and time associated with such classes
2) Persons who are already established in health care related fields and want to add hearing aid services and products to their businesses, but cannot interrupt their existing practices to obtain the required education and licensing. What is special about the Hearing Aid Academy training?
The Hearing Aid Academy training conveys just the essential information, savvy, and skills that experienced and successful hearing aid dispensers have learned will produce success in the field. The Hearing Aid Academy gathered together a team of knowledgeable professionals to put together this unique training. You have the opportunity to learn all of the subjects that you need to know in order to pass your state's license examination. In addition, you will learn the insights and techniques that Hearing Aid Academy professionals have developed and perfected over 60 years of successful practice. You will also learn the important basic business skills as they apply specifically to the field of hearing aid dispensing, including business practices, marketing, and sales. How much income can I expect to make?
There are several factors that can affect anticipated income, but the most significant is the question, “How much do you want to make?” You decide! The traditional potential of the profits available in the hearing aid field and the growing marketplace created by the dramatic increase in need to service the baby boomer generation virtually enables you to decide how much income you want to make.
If you decide to establish your own practice, you will select the appropriate area and neighborhood; you will analyze populations, design promotions and equip yourself to convey the proper services in order to maximize your profit goals. The bulk of your training will be conducted on-line via web-based video; so if you do not own a PC with wide band Internet access, that will be your first investment. Prices vary, you should consider this part of your investment in your future as the first essential equipment for operating a successful hearing aid service.
The Hearing Aid Academy tuition fee is $16,000.00, including a $100.00 deposit at the time of your enrollment application, balance payable in advance of training. Your tuition covers seventyfive hours of video instruction, a complete set of reference/work text books, basic equipment for making ear impressions, a three-day, hands-on lab session at the Hearing Aid Academy facilities in Atlanta Texas, and after-training support via telephone, fax or email. Accommodations and meals during your three-day lab session are including in your tuition, however you should also budget an amount of approximately $400.00 to pay the state examination fee after you have completed your training course. What requirements are there for enrollment?
1. Each individual applying for admission must complete a personal interview (telephone or in person) with our Academy admissions director. Our experienced admissions staff will discuss with you your plans and needs. 2. You will need to provide at the time of enrollment a proof of completion of secondary education (High school diploma or GED certificate) or the alternative education requirements of the licensing office of the state in which you plan to establish your practice as a hearing aid specialist.
3. Provide proof of six months of experience using a personal computer
4. You must meet the age requirements set by the examining board/or agency of the state in which you wish to be licensed.
5. A $100.00 deposit is required to accompany your enrollment application.
How long does it take to complete the training?
Most students will want to complete the training as quickly as possible and schedule to take the state examination promptly after completion. We suggest that you study and review carefully and take your time. Consistent study habits pay big dividends in cementing concepts. You should plan to take six to seven weeks to study and complete the web-access video training. Your three-day lab session at the Hearing Aid Academy facility can usually be completed within 30 days of your completing the video training. However, we understand that circumstances can change without warning. Our goal for you is to see you complete the training and successfully pass the state examination within a reasonable amount of time, so that you receive full value from your investment and benefit from your training. Your tuition provides full access privileges to the video training for a period of six months from the date of your enrollment. Extension of your access privileges can be arranged for special circumstances. Where and when can I take the state examination?
Each state has its own set of guidelines and schedules for offering the hearing aid dispenser examination. The states examination fees vary, but are approximately $400.00 currently. Once you have enrolled, we will immediately determine for you the available scheduled examinations in your state. You should plan to familiarize yourself with your state laws and rules regulating and governing hearing aid specialists. There is sometimes an advantage to taking the examination immediately after completing your training, but if the exam dates do not mesh with your completion date, we will make sure that you have reference materials to prepare and review. Also we offer free access to our video training, so that you can quickly review key subjects before taking the examination.
